The Media Production certificate is open to undergraduate students interested in media creation for all fields, including - but not limited to - television, film, documentary, internet-based media, and more. Students will take a series of media production courses to gain skills in audiovisual storytelling, including interviewing, event videography, and video and audio editing. The Certificate’s concluding responsibility is a service internship in which students film and/or edit a series of videos about campus events and programs.

Required Courses

• MP 100  : Media Production Tools and Techniques

• MP 301  : Video Production (4 units)

• MP 302  : Audio Production (4 units)

And one of:

• MP 200  : Media Ethics & Ecologies (3 units)

• MP 250  : Multimedia Writing (3 units)

Students may overlap a maximum of one course from Comm 332, Comm 333, or Comm 444 towards both the certificate and another minor of major.
