The Business Analytics Department advances data science and analytics by conducting original research and training students in developing theoretical and practical knowledge to analyze data, communicate information, perform quantitative analysis, and build and implement artificial intelligence models to emulate logical, actionable decisions. Our faculty members have expertise in Computer Science, Computer and Information Sciences, Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Electrical Engineering, Geophysics, Informatics, Information Systems, Management/Organizational Behavior/Human Resources, Management Science, Mathematical and Computational Cognitive Science, Operations and Decision Technologies, and Technology Management.

Students who want to combine study with practical experience in data science and analytics should contact the program director and the Career Center for information on a variety of opportunities available in both the private and public sectors. Academic course credit for internships may be available through enrollment in the Analytics Internship (DATA 495 ) course.
