Tabletop gaming offers us a unique opportunity to step into another person’s shoes, practice perspective-taking, and experience human connection. Unlike in digital gaming, players experience one another’s physical presence and energy. Additionally, our choices as players are not limited to a menu of options in a database, but are bounded only by our imaginations. In this class, we’ll use in-person, rules-light gameplay to explore listening, empathy for others who are unlike ourselves, and the universal human need to be understood.
