EDUC 731 - Special Topics in Literacy Disabilities: Dyslexia, Autism, and Other Specialized Needs

Prerequisites
EDUC 741 , EDUC 729 , and Admission to the SPI Certificate.

This course is designed to provide participants with an introduction to dyslexia, autism, and other specialized needs. The content focuses on federal and state laws, assessment and intervention, and the structure of language and literacy development as it relates to children with moderate and severe difficulties with learning to read and write from emergent to advanced stages of development.
