NURS 310 - Population Driven Health: Adult Care Management Upper Division

- Successful completion of Level one courses
- Students must be enrolled in required nursing curriculum
Building on concepts from previous courses, focusing on nursing practice with adults experiencing a wide range of state of health, wellness, disease, restoration across a life span. Emphasis is placed on holistic understanding of the cultural, psychological, and spiritual needs of the individual adult and family when planning and delivering care. This course is designed to improve nursing students’ decision making with application of critical thinking in the clinical setting, completing assessments and developing a plan of care. Application of the nursing process utilizing diagnostics of fluid and electrolyte imbalances, acid-base imbalances; endocrine system disorders; musculoskeletal and neurological disorders; care of the patient with integumentary disorders and peri-operative care is addressed including surgical procedures, pre and post operative care, aseptic technique, palliative care and end of life care.
Lecture and/or Lab Hours Theory: 180 minutes week, Clinical: 135 hours/semester (45 hours per unit)
