SPAN 300 - Spanish for Spanish Speakers Upper Division
Prerequisites Placement exam.
A course designed for students who grew up with Spanish and wish to improve their written language. Differences between written and spoken Spanish are emphasized. Reading and discussion of essays and short stories by Latino and Latin American writers; regular written assignments. This course prepares students for upper-division work by developing increased fluency in speaking, reading, writing and listening. The course uses a variety of texts, media and film to focus on the expansion of vocabulary, and to explore a diversity and richness of the Spanish language and culture of which the US is a part. Prepares students for the Certificate of Biliteracy.
