This course introduces students to the art of West African dancing from Ghana as well as provides the necessary skills and understanding for an appreciation of the artistic, athletic, and social qualities of dance. Throughout the course, students will learn various concepts surrounding dance including music, history of dance, culture, etiquette, and application in social settings as well as stage performances. In addition to being a rich learning experience, this course will bring the dancer out of you.
